Today the first rehearsals for Eurovision 2023 continue in Liverpool. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include Israel, Azerbaijan, Czechia, The Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Armenia, Romania, Belgium, and Cyprus. The seventh to rehearse today is Armenia’s Brunette.
Brunette’s first rehearsal
The seventh to take to the Eurovision 2023 stage at Liverpool Arena in Liverpool today was Brunette. Brunette will be competing in this year’s competition with her entry “Future Lover” following her internal selection by Armenian public service broadcaster AMPTV.
Following Brunette’s first rehearsal a clip of what went on was posted on the official TikTok account of the Eurovision Song Contest. The clip showed Brunette before and after she took to the Eurovision stage for the first time, as well as giving us some insight into how well her first rehearsal went.
What did we learn about Brunette’s staging?

As reported by the Eurovision 2023 liveblog, the performance starts with a backdrop of swirling graphics, with Brunette atop of a sloped structure. As the song develops, so does the staging, which includes some impressive use of the light and graphic capabilities of the M&S Bank Arena. Brunette is wearing an off-white, patterned dress, with the different panels being held together by black strings. It shows some similarities but also clear differences to what she wears in the “Future Lover” music video.
What we thought of Brunette’s first rehearsal
After Brunette’s first rehearsal Janek gave his initial thoughts on the snippet that we saw.
Who is Brunette?
Brunette, which is the stage name for the 21 year-old singer Elen Yeremyan from Yerevan kickstarted her career in 2019.
In 2019 Brunette released her first single which was entitled “Love The Way You Feel”. Brunette’s career kickstarted in collaboration with the Nvak Foundation, they also placed her in girlgroup Project 12 – an Armenian group which goes around performing in nightclubs around the country.

Armenia’s Eurovision Journey

Since their debut, Armenia has participated 14 times; 11 of which they made the Grand Final. Their best result was both in 2008 and 2014, where they managed to place 4th with Sirusho and “Qélé Qélé” and Aram MP3 with “Not Alone”.
