🇸🇮 Raiven reveals more about her Eurovision 2024 song “Veronika”

Earlier this month it was revealed that Raiven would represent Slovenia at Eurovision 2024. It was also revealed that Raiven would sing a song entitled “Veronika”. Raiven has now revealed more details about her Eurovision 2024 song.

Raiven speaks about “Veronika”

When speaking to RTVSLO, Raiven said her entry will stay true to her electronic roots. Femininity will also be a key-theme throughout Raiven’s Eurovision 2024 song. In the interview Raiven described Veronika as a “symbol of femininity”. Raiven also speaks about how the song won’t showcase “stereotypical feminism”, rather it will be a theme in the song alongside “grace”.

Raiven’s “Veronika” will be revealed on a live broadcast on January 20 on RTVSLO.

Who is Raiven?

Raiven is mostly known for taking part in Slovenia’s Eurovision Selection EMA three times (2016, 2017 and 2019), and has released an album (Magneta) and an EP (REM), both of which have been recognised by awards and critical and public acclaim.

Slovenia’s Eurovision Journey

In 1993, Slovenia made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with 1X Band and the song “Tih deževen dan”, which placed 22nd. Since their debut, they have participated 27 times – of which, 15 were where they qualified for the Grand Final.

Slovenia’s recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Joker Out, who sang the song “Carpe Diem”. Performing at the second semi-final, the band placed 5th, therefore qualifying for the final for the first time since 2019. At the final, Slovenia finished in 21st place, receiving 78 points. Of these, 33 came from the jury and 45 from the televote.
