Things continue to look up for Erica-Cody. After being announced as the first participant of Eurosong 2024, she has also announced that she has signed a record deal with Universal Music Ireland.
New Record Deal, and Eurosong entry release brought forward
Erica announced the good news on social media, where she expressed her gratitude and expressing how lucky she is that she needs ‘ a minute to let it sink in’ that she has a record deal. Universal Music is home to numerous stars including two-time Eurovision winner Loreen.
With the record deal news, Erica also announced that her Eurosong 2024 entry “Love Me Like I Do” which was due to be released on streaming platformson January 23rd, will now be released this Friday on January 12th.
Ireland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1965, Ireland made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with Butch Moore and the song “Walking the Streets in the Rain”, which managed to place 6th. Since their debut, Ireland has participated 56 times (making the Grand Final 45 times), and has won the competition seven times, which is currently tied for the record of most wins.
Ireland’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Wild Youth, with their song “We Are One”. They placed 12th in the semi-final, receiving 10 points from the televote, missing out on the Grand Final.
