🇳🇴 MIIA: “Green Lights is a mantra to trust in my truth”

With not long now until she participates in the third semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2024 with “Green Lights”, Daniel was lucky enough to be able to speak to MIIA

Our interview with MIIA

Daniel spoke to MIIA about rising to fame at a young age with the song “Dynasty”, how she came to be participating in Melodi Grand Prix and what we might see on stage during her performance.

About MIIA

MIIA, the alias of Mia Virik Kristensen, is a name that may be familiar to a lot of you thanks to her hit Dynasty, which has over 200,000,000 Spotify streams over various releases, and also has a music video with over 68 million views on Youtube. A decade on from Dynasty’s first release, she was headhunted to compete in Melodi Grand Prix with the song “Green Lights”

She will perform the song in the competition’s third heat, with the goal of representing Norway at Eurovision.

Norway’s Eurovision Journey

The Scandinavian nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, with Nora Brockstedt and the song “Voi Voi”, which placed 4th. Since their debut, they have participated 61 times, and made the Grand Final 58 of these. In addition, Norway has won the competition three times – in 1985, 1995, and 2009.

Norway’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Alessandra with the song “Queen of Kings”. After qualifying for the final, Norway placed 5th in the Grand Final, receiving 268 points, 52 of which from the jury and 216 from televoters.
