As we now have the songs competing for this year’s competition in Malmö, the team at That Eurovision Site will be reacting to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2024. The next Eurovision 2024 entry we will be reacting to is Italy, who will be competing in this year’s competition with “La Noia” by Angelina Mango.
Our thoughts on “La Noia”
In this series, we will be providing our opinions in two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three members of the team will be giving their written opinion on the entry. Tim will be on the main seat and will be giving his reaction to “La Noia”
What did the other members of the team think of “La Noia”?
Daniel : A super fun and energetic song! Angelina is one hell of a performer, she proved this not only with her great stage presence whilst performing La Noia, but also showed during covers night there is far more to her than just a girlbop. Great production, good vocals and a beat that makes you want to get up and dance, I could see this being a hit with both jury and televote in May.
Shiloh: Could I see this doing well at Eurovision? Yes. Do I like it? Absolutely not. The beat is unoriginal, I find the chorus annoyingly repetitive, and there’s better rap at Eurovision this year; my first impression of La Noia, and my continued opinion of it, is that it’s a K-pop knockoff. I expect better from Italy. That being said, this kind of music is popular these days, and Angelina’s stage presence is admittedly not to be denied.

Italy’s Eurovision Journey
Italy have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since the very beginning and have always been considered a powerhouse in the contest. Italy have won the contest on three occasions in 1964, 1990 and 2021. Italy withdrew after 1997, returning again in 2011 with Raphael Gualazzi who sang ‘Madness Of Love’. Raphael placed second in the 2011 Eurovison Song Contest after scoring 189 points.
Italy’s most recent entry in 2023 was “Due Vite” by Marco Mengoni. At the close of voting, Italy scored a total of 350 points in the Eurovision 2023 Grand Final, placing 4th. Of these, 176 points came from the juries, whilst the remaining 174 points came from the televote.
