Former Eurovision representative Elhaida Dani has been appointed as the Artistic Director of Festivali i Këngës 63.
Dani’s New Role
Elhaida Dani will serve as the festival’s artistic director, in a partnership that RTSH expects to last for “more than a year”. In her new role, Dani said that it is “a great pleasure and responsibility” to be the festival’s new director. She commented that it is “a golden opportunity” to show Albania’s best values. With Elhaida at its lead, RTSH intends to choose the most professional team to do the best for Festivali i Këngës 63 and beyond.
Albania’s Eurovision History
In 2004, Albania made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 20 times, and made the final 10 times. They achieved their best result in 2012, where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.
Besa represented Albania in 2024 with the song “Titan”. “Titan” performed in the second semi-final, where it ultimately placed fifteenth out of sixteen, receiving 14 points from the televote.
