Following Nemo’s win at 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, the preparations for Eurovision 2025 are well underway. Cities across Switzerland are preparing their bids to host the next contest; with Basel being to confirm formally that it has done so.
Highlighting previous experience on hosting big events

The council believe that a key strength in their bid is Basel’s St. Jakobshalle; one of the biggest arenas in the country. They have stated however that in order for the contest to be held in the arena temporary supports would need to be added to the roof to support equipment.
Basel
Basel is Switzerland’s third biggest city that sits on the heart of the German border. It makes up most of the Basel-Stadt canton that it gives its name to in the centre of the German speaking linguistic region.
