RAI will reveal who will represent Italy at Junior Eurovision 2024 on the 19th of September.
One of 17 countries in Madrid
RAI confirmed its participation at the beginning of July. Italy will be one of 17 countries at the contest in Madrid in November. All countries from Junior Eurovision 2023 will return, aside from the UK, with the additional returns of Cyprus and San Marino. Italy will reveal its representative for the contest next Thursday, the 19th of September. As of the time of writing, it is unclear whether the artist will be revealed solely or the song will be revealed alongside this announcement.
Italy in Junior Eurovision
Italy made its Junior Eurovision debut in 2014 with Vincenzo Cantiello and the song “Tu primo grande amore”. The performance scored 159 points on its way to a victory. Since winning, Italy’s best result is 3rd place in the 2016 contest. Italy has participated eight times in the contest so far.
Italy’s most recent participation was in 2023. Melissa and Ranya’s “Un Mondo Giusto” finished 11th. They received 81 points. 37 points came from the international juries and 44 points from the online voters.
