Portugal’s Junior Eurovision History
Portugal first took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, with Pedro Madeira singing his song “Deixa-me sentir”. Portugal participated once more in 2007, before taking a 10 year break and returning to the Contest in 2017. Since then, Portugal has participated a total of eight times.
Portugal’s most recent participation came in 2023 when Júlia Machado represented the nation in Nice with the song “Where I Belong”. At the end of the show, Portugal finished in 13th place with 75 points. 45 of Portugal’s points came from the online vote, whilst the remaining 30 came from professional juries.
