Shortly after she was selected as Ireland’s representative for Junior Eurovision 2024, Enya Cox Dempsey has been preparing for her participation, which includes the filming of the official music video for “La Chéile”, which has now been released.
The penultimate music video released
During the final of Junior Eurovision Éire, Enya performed “Le Chéile”, and was selected to represent Ireland after her performance. At the end of the show, the viewers were treated to a snippet of the studio version of the song, with the music video being uploaded to the official Junior Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel a few days later.
Following the completion of the running order for Junior Eurovision 2024, Ireland’s Enya Cox Dempsey will be performing 16th in this year’s competition on November 16.
Ireland’s Junior Eurovision Journey
Ireland first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. Débuting alongside Australia, Ireland was represented by Aimee Banks singing ” Réalta na Mara”. At the close of voting, Ireland finished in 12th place – receiving 36 points. Ireland has since participated a further eight times. Their best placement came in 2022, when Sophie Lennon finished in fourth place with her song “Solas”.
In 2023, Jessica McKean represented Ireland in Nice with her song “Aisling”. Ireland’s most recent participation, she finished 16th in a field of 16, earning 42 points. Of these, 8 came from professional juries, whilst the remaining 34 were from the online vote.
