The final of Junior Eurovision Éire 2024 – Ireland’s national selection for Junior Eurovision has taken place, where the three remaining finalists that remain in the running to be Ireland’s representative fought for the chance to represent Ireland in Spain. Enya Cox Dempsey emerged victorious and winning the right to represent Ireland in Madrid with her entry “Le Chéile”
Junior Eurovision Éire 2024 Final – a recap
The final of Junior Eurovision Éire 2024 was broadcast on Sunday (October 13th) on TG4, where we saw the conclusion of a new format for this year’s contest, with the show being presented by Louise Cantillon.
The competing artists and the songs they performed tonight were as follows:

All of the participants song a cover song they performed previously in the contest, as well as a Eurovision Cover. After both of the performances, Isla McManus did not advance to the next round where Lottie O’Driscoll Murray and Enya Cox Dempsey performed the Irish entry for Junior Eurovision 2024.

Ireland’s Junior Eurovision journey
Ireland first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. Débuting alongside Australia, Ireland was represented by Aimee Banks singing ” Réalta na Mara”. At the close of voting, Ireland finished in 12th place, receiving 36 points. Ireland has since participated a further eight times. Their best placement came in 2022, when Sophie Lennon finished in fourth place with her song “Solas”.
In 2023, Jessica McKean represented Ireland in Nice with her song “Aisling”. She finished 16th in a field of 16, earning 42 points: 8 from professional juries, and 34 from the online vote.
