🇫🇷 Titouan performs at his hometown ahead of Junior Eurovision 2024 participation

Over a month ago since being announced as France’s representative for Junior Eurovision 2024, Titouan has been preparing for his participation. This includes the promotion of his participation next month. Recently he visited his hometown of Quimper to promote his entry.

Meeting the press and a performance of “Comme Ci, Comme Ça”

Titouan visited Quimper on October 16, in order to mark the 30 days countdown until Junior Eurovision 2024. At this time, Titouan also performed “Comme Ci, Comme Ça” live for the first time, where he was Chorale Pop Harmonizh and Abdelkrim Abdelli.

Who is Titouan?

Titouan is one of the oldest Junior Eurovision participants this year, at fourteen–he’s also one of the most experienced, having appeared on The Voice Kids and Dream Team and boasting a social media following of over 100,000. He comes from Quimper in Brittany, France, and grew up around music. His father is a guitarist, and he was influenced by listening to Janis Joplin, Michael Jackson, and the Police at home with his two older brothers. Aside from singing, Titouan also enjoys playing the drums, cooking, manga, and spending time with his family.

Titouan was internally selected by France 2 and was announced on 18th September and will be participating with his entry “Comme Ci, Comme Ça”.

France’s Junior Eurovision Journey

France took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Represented by Thomas Pontier singing “Si on voulait bien”, France finished in 6th place earning 78 points. However, the country withdrew from the Contest, citing a ‘Eurovision overkill’. France would not rejoin the Contest until 2018. Since then, France has become a Junior Eurovision powerhouse, finishing in the top 5 in each of their four subsequent participations. France won the 2020 edition of the Contest, with Valentina singing “J’imagine”. In 2022, France won for a second time with Lissandro’s song “Oh Maman”.

France participated in the 2023 Junior Euroision Song Contest with Zoe Clauzure and the song “Cœur”. They won the contest for a second time in a row, achieving a total of 228 points. Zoe came first in the jury vote with 136 points, as well as first place in the online vote with 92 points. This 3rd win makes France the joint most successful Junior Eurovision country alongside Georgia.
