Serbian broadcaster Radio-Televizija Srbije (RTS) has announced that submissions for Pesma za Evroviziju (PZE) 2025 have been extended until November 10th from November 1st.
About Pesma za Evroviziju 2024
After confirming its participation in July, we know that RTS will be using PZE for the fourth year in a row to select its Eurovision representative. As of the time of writing, there is no currently confirmed date for the national final. However, we do have an idea of what the national final will look like. Following traditional Eurovision rules, the winner of PZE 2024 will be decided by a combination of 50% jury votes and 50% televote. Not much is currently known about a potential lineup, which is due to be revealed in due course.
Serbia’s Eurovision Journey
In 2007, Serbia made its debut as an independent country, having previously participated as part of Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro. There, they were represented by Marija Šerifović with “Molitva”, which managed to win the competition. Since their debut, Serbia has participated 16 times (13 of which, where they qualified for the Grand Final).
Teya Dora represented Serbia at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö with her song “Ramonda”. At this year’s competition, Serbia managed to qualify for the Grand Final, where they placed 17th. At the close of voting, she received 54 points – 22 coming from the jury and 32 from the televote.
