With less than 24 hours to go until Moldova has the first round of its Eurovision 2025 selection, it has been revealed that Eblansh Band has withdrawn from Etapa Națională 2025.
Withdrawal due to illness
The withdrawal was revealed by TRM as the band announced its withdrawal, with the following statement:
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the trust you have placed in us and for the opportunity to participate in this prestigious competition. We are deeply honored and proud to have been selected for the live auditions stage.”
Unfortunately, we are forced to withdraw our application to participate. Currently, one of our team members is hospitalized in a hospital in Romania, which makes it impossible for us to attend the auditions on Saturday.
We would like to sincerely apologize to the jury members for this unforeseen situation. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this incredible opportunity – it was a great honor for us! We warmly hug each and every one of you!
We also send our warmest wishes for success to all participants in the national selection. We keep our fingers crossed for each of you and want to tell you that if you have made it this far, regardless of the results of the auditions or the national selection, you are already the best! You are the image of Moldova in front of the whole of Europe, the representatives of the modern music industry, and this is a huge achievement!
We hope that Moldova, as always, will be represented at the highest level. We believe that the chosen artist will give Moldova the best possible result at the Eurovision Song Contest!
We hug you with all our love and wish you much success!
With respect and gratitude, Eblansh Band

Moldova’s Eurovision journey
Moldova is relatively new to the Eurovision Song Contest, joining in 2005. Their debut entry, Zdob și Zdub, finished in 6th place, which had remained their highest scoring entry up until 2017. They were dethroned by returners Sunstroke Project and the song ‘Hey Mamma’, which finished in 3rd place. At the close of voting, Moldova received 374 points.
After representing Moldova in 2007, Natalia Barbu returned to Eurovision in 2024 with the song “In the Middle”. She received 20 points in the first semifinal, ultimately placing thirteenth and missing out on the grand final.
