During the interview, Tim and FELIN discussed how “Solo Anthem” was submitted to Estonia’s Eurovision 2025 selection, the process for filming the music video, and what we can expect from her performance next month.
About FELIN
Elin Blom, aka FELIN is a Pop-Punk artist who has performed with the likes of Icona Pop, Agnes, Thundermother, and has three studio albums under her belt. Felin describes her music as ‘energetic pop punk where the music is united with the visuals in an explosive unit’.
FELIN will be participating in Eesti Laul 2025 with “Solo Anthem” which she co-wrote alongside Gevin Niglas, Johanna Ekholm and Paul Rey.
Speaking about her entry, FELIN comments:
“Solo Anthem” is about believing in yourself. Because what really matters in the end is that you always continue to be your own biggest fan, no matter what others think. I wrote the song at a time when I was feeling a little lost and down. For me, the song became my own “cheer song” and a reminder to keep moving forward, to keep believing and listening to my own passion and feeling and to do what felt right for me.
It is an honor to participate in Eesti Laul. I have always admired Estonia’s creative music scene. I am really looking forward to contributing my own sound to the competition!”,
Estonia’s Eurovision Journey
Estonia has appeared at almost every Eurovision since their debut in 1994. They have won the contest once with Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL in 2001, singing Everybody. Other notable Estonian entrants include 3rd placer Sahlene with Runaway in 2002 and Ines with Once In A Lifetime in 2000, who placed 4th. More recently, their highest-placing entries have been Urban Symphony with Rändajad in 2009 and Ott Lepland with Kuula in 2012, both of which finished in 6th place.
In 2024, Estonia elected to send 5MIINUST and Puuluup through Eesti Laul to the Contest with “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”. They successfully qualified for the final and finshed in 20th place with 37 points. The group finished with 4 points from the juries, and an additional 33 points from the televote.
