Azerbaijan’s Eurovision representatives Mamagama will release their song for Basel on February 19th. It comes after broadcaster Ictimai TV revealed the artists last month.
Mamagama song title already revealed
The band currently have not released any information about the style of the song, but have been teasing its release. Now, the official music video for the band has been uploaded to Eurovision’s official Youtube channel.
Mamagama will sing their song “Run With U” in Basel. The song will be released in a premiere on February 19th at 14:00 CET. Mamagama had been giving hints toward the song, alluding the band will “shine” on the Eurovision stage.
This is the first time in several years where Azerbaijan has released their Eurovision song in February. Traditionally, the nation is one of the last nations to reveal their entry in March. However, following changes to the Azerbaijani delegation, new head Nurlana Jafarova said there was little point in holding back when everything was already ready to go.
Azerbaijan’s Eurovision journey
Azerbaijan is a powerhouse in Eurovision, first debuting in 2008 with the song “Day After Day” by Elnur & Samir, finishing 8th. The country has since gone on to achieve five top-5 performances, including one win in 2011. Azerbaijan has an impressive qualification record, only failing to make the final in 2018, 2023, and 2024.
Azerbaijan internally selected Fahree and Ilkin Dolatov to represent them in 2024 with the song “Özünlə apar”; they scored eleven points in the first semifinal, placing fourteenth and missing out on the Grand Final for a second year in a row.
