JJ - Austrian representative for Eurovision 2025.

As the national final season starts its final phase, Austria’s act for Eurovision 2025 – JJ – will release his song on March 6th.

JJ to release “Wasted Love” on radio

In a press release shared by Austrian broadcaster ORF, JJ will premiere his song on March 6th. The song will be revealed through the radio show ร–3-Wecker. This is not the first time that the radio show has been used to reveal the act, however. ร–3-Wecker was where most Austrian Eurovision songs received their first airplay in recent years. JJ will also likely be a guest on the show for the premiere.

Writing in the release, ORF said:

JJ will represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel with his song “Wasted Love”! With his rare singing talent and a performance that combines timeless artistry with contemporary energy, he wants to create the big show moment at the Eurovision Song Contest. JJ will sing in the second semi-final on May 15th for a place in the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 17th.

Members of the press will also be invited to listen to the song one day earlier on March 5th. The press event will be held at the Vienna State Opera, where JJ will be present to answer questions by the media.

Austria’s Eurovision journey

In 1957, Austria made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, where Bob Martin represented the landlocked nation with the song “Wohin, kleines Pony?”. At the close of voting, it managed to place 10th overall. Since their debut, Austria has participated 56 times (being in the final 49 times), and have won the competition on two occasions in 1966 and 2014.

For 2024, Kaleen was internally selected to represent Austria with their song “We Will Rave”. In Malmรถ, Kaleen qualified for the final, where she went on to finish in 24th place with 24 points. Of these, 5 points came from the televote and another 19 came from the juries.
