Earlier this evening the SBS announced that Go-Jo will represent Australia at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland with the song “Milkshake Man”.
The reveal of Go-Jo as Australia’s artist for Basel comes after months of radio silence falling the announcement that Australia would be participating at Eurovision 2025. Unlike all other countries which are automatically eligible to participate at Eurovision, Australia receives a special invitation to do so. It has received this every year since 2015. As SBS has already opened submissions for Eurovision 2026, they already have permission to enter the contest next year.
Who is Go-Jo?
Last week, Australian broadcaster SBS revealed that their entry will be revealed on Tuesday 25th February. Earlier today, the broadcaster revealed their entrant as Go-Jo, who has previously gone viral with his single “Mrs Hollywood“. Go-Jo’s entry for Basel, “Milkshake Man” aims to inspire people to be loudly and proudly themselves. The song was written by Go-Jo alongside George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard and Jason Bovino, who are all members of the band Sheppard.
โThe Milkshake Manโs purpose is to inspire people to embrace the loudest and proudest version of themselves, and I canโt think of a better place to share that message than the Eurovision stage! Itโs an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation, and I’ve never been more excited to share my art and vision with the incredible Eurovision fans around the world!โ

Australia’s Eurovision Journey
The most recent country to debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, Australia debuted in 2015. Guy Sebastian represented the land down under with his entry “Tonight Again” in Vienna, where they placed 5th. Since their debut, they have participated every single year of the competition.
Australia internally selected Electric Fields to represent them in 2024 with the song “One Milkali (One Blood)”. The band ultimately failed to reach the Grand Final, placing eleventh in the first semifinal with 41 televote points.
