Switzerland recently hosted Eurovision 2025 in Basel, following Nemo’s 2024 win. With a strong pedigree, including last year’s 10th-place finish by Zoë Më, SRG SSR is aiming to maintain momentum by carefully selecting its 2026 act. After the submission deadline, SRG SSR will conduct audition rounds. Finalists will be presented early in 2026. The chosen artist and song will then prepare for Eurovision 2026, set to take place in Austria in May.

Switzerland’s Eurovision journey

Switzerland both hosted and debuted in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Their first participation was successful, as they won with Lys Assia’s “Refrain”. Since then, they have participated on 63 occasions, making the Grand Final 52 times.

Switzerland’s most recent participation saw them being represented on home soil by Zoë Më with her song “Voyage”. At the end of voting in the final, it was revealed Switzerland had earned 214 points from the juries, and received nothing from televoters. This ultimately placed Switzerland 10th in the final.
