Georgia’s Ranina has reached its next stage, with six contestants advancing to the semi-final of the 2025 edition. One of them will go on to represent the host country at this year’s Junior Eurovision in Tbilisi.
The top six revealed
After four rounds of performances, the combined results have determined which young artists remain in the competition. Originally, only five were meant to continue to the semi-final, however due to a tie between Mariam and Lile, six contestants will continue the journey:
- Lazare Kapanadze with 480 points
- Anita Abgariani with 479 points
- Sandro Abesadze with 479 points
- Gabriel Bodaveli with 478 points
- Lile Mchedlishvili with 476 points
- Mariam Muzashvili with 476 points
What happens next
The Ranina 2025 semi-final will see Lazare, Anita, Sandro, Gabriel, Lile and Mariam perform once again, with three finalists moving forward to the Grand Final.
The overall winner will earn the right to represent Georgia on home ground at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which takes place in Tbilisi this December 13.
Georgia’s Junior Eurovision journey
Georgia is the most successful country to take part in Junior Eurovision, currently with four wins under their belt. The country joined the Junior Eurovision family in 2007 with Mariam Romelashvili singing “Odelia Ranuni”, finishing in 4th place. Georgia then won the competition the following year, with Bzikebi’s “Bzz…”. Georgia also won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 and 2016 respectively. They hosted the Contest in Tbilisi in 2017.
In 2024, Georgia added their record fourth win, with Andria Putkaradze and his song “To my Mom” sweeping the jury vote and receiving douze points from twelve countries. His jury total was 180, and his 59 points from the televote made his overall total 239 points.
