🇪🇪 Finalists competing in Eesti Laul 2026 to be revealed on October 30th and 31st

Tommy Cash who will pass the baton for Eesti Laul 2026

Estonian broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) announced that the participants for Eesti Laul 2026 will be revealed on October 30th and 31st.

The jury has made their choice!

Earlier month, broadcaster ERR announced that 171 songs were submitted for the competition. A jury of 34 members then whittled it down to just 12 songs. The jury was kept anonymous to disregard any potential prejudices. The jury also listened to the songs with no information on who was performing each number.

Speaking about the selection, Eesti Laul producer Riin Vann said that a huge variety of artists have submitted songs, which has made it harder for the jury to choose who will go through.

The lineup of artists and composers who submitted songs to the contest is impressive, and considering that there are only 12 places in the final, exceptionally close competition is expected.

The first six participants of Eesti Laul will be revealed in “Ringvaade” on Thursday (October 30th), with the remainder being unveiled on Friday (October 31st). The entries of the 12 competing artists can be heard for the first time in early December.

Estonia’s Eurovision journey

Estonia has appeared at almost every Eurovision since their debut in 1994. They have won the contest once with Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL in 2001, singing Everybody. Other notable Estonian entrants include 3rd placer Sahlene with Runaway in 2002 and Ines with Once In A Lifetime in 2000, who placed 4th. More recently, their highest-placing entries have been Urban Symphony with Rändajad in 2009 and Ott Lepland with Kuula in 2012, both of which finished in 6th place.

In 2025, Estonia elected to send Tommy Cash through Eesti Laul to the Contest with “Espresso Macchiato”. They successfully qualified for the final and finished in 3rd place with 356 points. Of these, 258 points came from the televote, while 98 came from the juries.
