Eurovision season is heating up, and Poland is officially in. This weekend, TVP confirmed that the country will once again choose its Eurovision act through an open national selection.
A Valentine’s Day National Final
Submissions open on November 3 and close on November 24 at 23:59. A professional jury of 9 to 15 members (including representatives from TVP, the media, and artistic associations) will review the entries.
The final winner, however, will be chosen entirely by the public through SMS voting during the live broadcast on February 14. The full line-up of finalists will be announced on January 14 along with the names of the jury members assessing the submissions.
Rules and AI Clause
Each performer must hold Polish citizenship, and songs must be submitted in their final versions (no demos allowed). A notable addition this year: the AI clause. Songs must be human creations, though AI-assisted works are allowed if the artist retains full creative control.
By December 5, the selection jury will rate their top ten entries, and up to 20 artists will be invited to live auditions on December 18. From there, at least ten will move on to the televised final, with TVP reserving the right to directly select up to three acts.
Poland’s Journey to Eurovision
In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Edyta Gรณrniak with the song โTo nie ja!โ and placed 2nd, Polandโs best result at the contest to date. Since then, Poland has participated 26 times, qualifying for the Grand Final 16 times.
Poland selected Justyna Steczkowska to represent the national at Eurovision 2025 with “GAJA”, thirty years after her first participation. She qualified for the final, ultimately finishing in 14th place with 156 points. Of these, 17 came from the jury, while the remaining 139 came from the televote.
