CyBC has released the official song “Away”, performed by Rafaella Panteli & Christos Georgiou, who will represent the country at Junior Eurovision 2025 in Tbilisi.
About “Away”
The song opens softly, showcasing the duo’s warm vocal blend, before evolving into an uplifting anthem driven by strong rhythm, bright synths, and emotional energy. Lyrically, “Away” explores themes of dreams, freedom, and self-discovery — a call to break free from fear and move toward the light.
Rafaella is 14 years old and has experience in musical theatre: she has performed in shows like Annie and Hairspray, plus she has won several dance competitions. Christos, aged 12, plays drums and composes music himself.
Cyprus’ Junior Eurovision history
Cyprus first took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in its inaugural year of 2003. Theodora Rafti represented Cyprus at the first edition of the Contest, singing “Mia Efhi”, finishing in 14th place. The country’s best position came in both 2004 and 2006, when they finished in 8th place. Cyprus would go on to host the 2008 edition of the Contest in Limassol.
Cyprus returned to Junior Eurovision in 2024, where Maria Pissarides represented them in Madrid. Her song “Crystal Waters” received ten points from the juries and 50 from the televote.
