Ireland’s Lottie O’Driscoll Murray has released her Junior Eurovision 2025 entry, “Rúin”. The ballad and its official music video are now available on broadcaster TG4’s Youtube channel.
A timeless ballad for Lottie
Sung entirely in Irish, “Rúin” is a mid-tempo ballad that starts of slow before more rich instrumentation comes into the second verse. The music video depicts Lottie climbing a mountain beforee setting off a flare, whilst also singing on a spotlit stage.
Lottie O’Driscoll Murray will represent Ireland at the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She won the right to represent Ireland after she won the national selection, Junior Eurovision Éire, last month.
Ireland’s Junior Eurovision journey
Ireland first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. Débuting alongside Australia, Ireland was represented by Aimee Banks singing ” Réalta na Mara”. At the close of voting, Ireland finished in 12th place – receiving 36 points. Ireland has since participated a further eight times. Their best placement came in 2022, when Sophie Lennon finished in fourth place with her song “Solas”.
In 2024, Enya Cox Dempsey sang “Le chéile” for Ireland. She placed fifteenth in a field of seventeen, receiving 15 points from the jury and 40 from the online vote.
