Welcome to That Eurovision Site’s 2025 Advent Calendar! Each day at 10:00CET we’ll be highlighting one of our favourite holiday themed songs from across the Eurovision sphere! Today is 4th December and our featured song today is “Piparkūku mīla” by Marta, who participated in Supernova 2016 and 2025

Behind the 4th door on the TES Advent Calendar is…

About “Piparkūku mīla”

“Piparkůku mīla” (“Gingerbread love”) is a heartfelt ballad which touches on how the Christmas period brings out the love that Marta shares with her partner. The song is Marta’s second Christmas track, and even features a callback to her first, “Ziemassvētku valsis”.

The song was written by Marta herself, with production by JJ Lush, who has collaborated regularly with both Marta and basically every other Baltic artist you like.

The song’s video was made by Madara Dzintara-Pluša.

What do we think?

This is just so incredibly cute, with a really sweet melody, a lovely voice to go over it, and my favourite part, lyrics that are straight from the heart. Whilst there’s a clear festive feel with the instrumentation, it’s the type of song I wouldn’t mind hearing all year round. Just a real treat.

Marta’s Eurovision Journey

Marta was introduced to the Eurovision world as part of Supernova 2016 with the song “Choices” which reached the semi-final stage of that year’s edition. She would return to Supernova in 2025 with the song “Lovable”, which failed to qualify from the semi-final.

What do you think of today’s song? As always, please let us know what you think by getting involved in the comments below. Also, be sure to follow ‘That Eurovision Site’ on FacebookInstagramTwitterTikTokThreads, tumblr, and Bluesky for more information about Eurovision 2025!
