As Eurovizija.lt filming begins tomorrow, LRT has announced the presenting lineup. Alongside longtime host Gabrielė Martirosian and 2025 debutant Rimvydas Černiauskas, Eglė Kernagytė will join the team as a new host.
Fresh Energy for Eurovizija.LT
Kernagytė expressed enthusiasm about joining the Eurovizija.lt family, saying she’s looking forward to the filming process with a bright and positive attitude despite the natural nervousness that comes with the role. Her addition expands the hosting team and is intended to bring a fresh perspective and energy to the show as the competition intensifies.
Registration opens for live show filming
According to Eurodiena, audience members must register in advance to attend the recordings. Registration is free of charge, but places are limited, meaning early sign-ups will have priority. Successful applicants will be contacted with further details regarding studio access, filming schedules and entry procedures.
The shows will be filmed at the LRT studios in Vilnius, continuing the format introduced in recent years that combines pre-recorded semi-finals with a live grand final. The first filming of the semi-finals is scheduled for January 14 and 20 at the LRT Grand Studio.
Lithuania’s Eurovision journey
The Baltic nation made its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas represented them with the song “Lopšinė mylimai”, which placed 25th. Since then, Lithuania has participated 22 times and made the Grand Final 15 times. LT United gave Lithuania its best-ever Eurovision result back in 2006, when the country placed 6th.
In 2025, Katarsis represented Lithuania, participating with the song “Tavo akys”. Performing in the second semi-final, Katarsis qualified for the final in sixth place. In the Grand Final, Lithuania finished in 16th place overall, scoring 96 points – 34 points came from the juries, while another 62 points came from the televote.
