Tonight, Sweden began its six-week-long search to select its Eurovision 2026 representative with this year’s first six acts taking to the Melodifestivalen stage, with four advancing further in the competition. Tonight’s Semi-Final comes from Linkรถping.
First two finalists revealed
Six acts competed for two spots in the final, and a spot in the Final Qualification round with the results from both rounds as follows:
Round One
The first round of voting decided the first finalist, and the participant with the most votes being awarded the first spot in the final.

Round Two
In the second round of the vote, two results were selected. The participant with the most points from the Age Groups & Televote was awarded the second final spot. The act participating in the ‘Finalkval’ (Final Qualification) would then go to the participant with the most votes, after the second finalist has been selected. The results are as follows:

After the second round of voting, it was announced that A*Teens won the second final spot as they received the most points. Meanwhile, Jacqline had qualified for the Finalkval after receiving the most votes from both rounds.
Melodifestivalen 2026 continues next Saturday, February 7, with the competition heading to Gothenburg, where another six participants would compete for two spots in the final, and a spot in the Final Qualification round.

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song โLilla stjรคrnaโ which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
