The second show of Bulgaria’s Natsionalnata selektsiya has concluded with eight competing artist being narrowed down to a final one, with Dara winning the right to represent the Balkan nation at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

Tonight’s show saw the eight acts who qualified from last week’s show compete again with a song of their own – not in contention to represent Bulgaria. The results were decided by an equally weighted jury and televote. Eurovision stars Eldar QasΔ±mov, Aidan, and Alis joined Bulgarian musicians Ivo Dimchev and Nevena Tsoneva as interval acts tonight.

Dara will now present three song on the 28th of February that will be in with a chance to represent Bulgaria in Vienna.

Bulgaria’s Eurovision Journey

Bulgaria are a country that really want to win the Eurovision Song Contest, especially since their return in 2016. Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2005 with the song ‘Lorraine’ sung by Kaffe, the song came 19th in the semi final scoring 49 points. Bulgaria’s best ever result came in 2017 with ‘Beautiful Mess’ by Kristian Kostov, the song placed 2nd in the Grand Final that year scoring 615 points.

In 2022, Bulgaria was represented by the Intelligent Music Project in Turin, where they sang the song “Intention”, placing 16th in the Semi-Final with 29 points.
