Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2026 representative DARA has revealed that she is working with choreographer and creative director Fredrik Rydman on her stage performance for Vienna.

Collaboration With a Eurovision Staging Expert

Fredrik Rydman is one of the most well-known creative directors in Eurovision history. He was responsible for staging several memorable performances at the contest. Among his most notable Eurovision credits are the two Eurovision winners, “Heroes” (Sweden 2015) and “The Code” (Switzerland 2024). He also served as Creative Director for France and Albania at Eurovision 2025, further cementing his reputation as one of the contest’s leading staging specialists.

With a post on her socials, DARA commented:

“I’m prepared with all the outfits, we have a team that is ready with different concepts. We are prepared with everything. I expect to find out as soon as possible when exactly I will be filming, but I’m leaving for Stockholm soon, because the same director is there with whom we will be working. And now everything is still going to change. The dancing, the stage, the costumes,”

Bulgaria’s Eurovision Journey

Bulgaria are a country that really want to win the Eurovision Song Contest, especially since their return in 2016. Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2005 with the song ‘Lorraine’ sung by Kaffe, the song came 19th in the semi final scoring 49 points. Bulgaria’s best ever result came in 2017 with ‘Beautiful Mess’ by Kristian Kostov, the song placed 2nd in the Grand Final that year scoring 615 points.

In 2022, Bulgaria was represented by the Intelligent Music Project in Turin, where they sang the song “Intention”, placing 16th in the Semi-Final with 29 points.
