Ahead of his participation in the Melodifestivalen 2026 final, Sweden’s selection for Eurovision 2026, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Eurovision alum Robin Bengtsson, who is participating in this week’s selection with his entry “Honey Honey”.

Together, Tim and Robin talk about his journey to get to the Melodifestivalen 2026 final and how brutal he felt the Finalkval was. He also admits how nervous he gets in the green room, and how he was not sure he would even make it to the final on Saturday. The pair also chat about Robin’s musical journey and what he has planned for after the final, but also talk about the possibility he could represent Sweden for the second time in Eurovision.
Who is Robin Bengtsson?
Robin Bengtsson has built a strong career, amassing over 120 million streams. He has participated in Melodifestivalen four times (2016, 2017, 2020, 2022), and ended up representing Sweden in 2017 after winning with “I Can’t Go On”, which made the Grand Final in Kyiv, and placed 5th.
Robin is participating for a fifth time in Melodifestivalen with his entry “Honey Honey”, which was co-written by Robin Bengtsson alongside Gavin Jones, Pär Westerlund and Petter Tarland.
Sweden’s Eurovision journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
