Ahead of her participation in the final of Melodifestivalen 2026, Sweden’s selection for Eurovision 2026, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Meira Omar, who is participating in Mello for the second time with her entry “Dooset Daram”

During their interview, Tim and Meira Omar talked about her thoughts on making it to the final through Finalkval, as well as what it would mean to her if she’s able to bring Dooset Daram to Eurovision 2026.
Who is Meira Omar?
Meira Omar had her big breakthrough in the reality series ‘Love Is Blind’, which earned her a global fanbase. Following five years working as an artist in Bollywood, she developed a distinctive creative identity, blending Persian melodies with contemporary pop influences.
In 2025, Meira debuted in Melodifestivalen with her entry “Hush Hush”, which managed to reach the final of the competition, placing 10th, as well as reaching Platinum status in Sweden, accumulating over 13 million streams at the time of writing.
Meira Omar is participating in Melodifestivalen for a second time with her entry “Dooset Daram”, which was co-written by Meira alongside Anderz Wrethov, Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt, and Laurell Barker.
Sweden’s Eurovision journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
