Eurovision in Vienna is just less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2026 journey so far. The next artist in this year’s preview is Cyprus’s Antigoni.
Antigoni’s Eurovision Journey So Far
Antigoni won the right to represent Cyprus after being internally selected.
Antigoni’s song for Eurovision 2026 – “Jalla” – was written by Antigoni herself, as well as Charalambous Kallona, Connor Mullally-Knight, Demetris Nikolaou, Claydee, Paris Kalpos and Trey Qua.
What do we think of “Jalla”?
The team at That Eurovision Site has reacted to Antigoni’s entry for Vienna. Molly gave her thoughts on “Jalla”, which you can check out below.
Who is Antigoni?
Antigoni Buxton is a 30-year-old singer born in London, with Greek Cypriot heritage. Born to a famous Greek Cypriot TV presenter, Antigoni grew up in the British capital, though maintaining her ties to Cyprus throughout her formative years. She first gained attention when she was a contestant on Love Island in 2022, before becoming an influencer.
Cyprus’s Eurovision Journey
The Mediterranean nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, where Island participated with the song “Monika” and place 6th. Since then, Cyprus has participated 40 times (33 of which where they qualified for the Grand Final).
For 2025, CyBC internally selected Theo Evan to represent them in Basel with the song “Shh”. Competing in the first semi-final, Cyprus failed to qualify for the final, finishing in 11th place with 44 points. This was the first time since 2022 that Cyprus had not been in a Eurovision final.
