Eurovision in Vienna is just less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this yearโs artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2026 journey so far. The final artist in this year’s preview is Norway’s Jonas Lovv.
Jonas Lovv’s Eurovision journey so far
Jonas Lovv was chosen to represent Norway at Eurovision 2026 after he triumphed over former winner Alexander Rybak at Melodi Grand Prix on February 28th. He is now set to close the second semi-final, performing in position #15 on May 14th.
Jonas will represent Norway at Eurovision 2026 with “Ya Ya Ya” after winning Melodi Grand Prix. The song was written by Jonas himself, as well as Sondre Skaftun.

Who is Jonas Lovv?
Jonas Lovv Hellesรธy is a 31-year-old singer-songwriter born in the Norwegian city of Bergen. He first shot to fame when he appeared on the Norwegian version of Idol, but was eliminated at the audition stage. After that, he developed his voice, fronting several bands before going solo and releasing his own music since 2020. In 2025, he gained recognition again after starring in Norway’s version of The Voice, reaching the semi-final stage.
Norway’s Eurovision journey
The Scandinavian nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, with Nora Brockstedt and the song โVoi Voiโ, which placed 4th. Since their debut, they have participated 62 times, and made the Grand Final 59 of these. In addition, Norway has won the competition three times – in 1985, 1995, and 2009.
Norwayโs latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Kyle Alessandro with the song โLighterโ. After qualifying for the final, Norway placed 18th in the Grand Final, receiving 89 points, 22 of which from the jury and 67 from televoters.
