Today, the rehearsals for Eurovision 2026 continue in Vienna. Countries rehearsing on Day 1 include Moldova, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Georgia, and Finland. The second to rehearse today is Sweden’s Felicia. Rehearsal’s pictures will be out in approximately 24 hours.

What did we learn about Bzikebi’s staging?

Georgia brings Bzikebi back to Eurovision, and they fully embrace the legacy that made them iconic in the first place. The black and yellow colour palette instantly connects to their Junior Eurovision roots, but this time it’s reimagined on a much bigger scale.

The styling takes that familiar identity and pushes it forward. What was once playful is now elevated into something sharper and more futuristic. The group appear in bold, structured outfits that blend high-fashion with a superhero-like aesthetic, giving the impression that they’ve stepped straight out of a different timeline.

Behind them, an unexpected visual twist adds another layer: a second, more intense version of the trio appears on screen. These alternate versions, almost robotic in nature, act as a kind of amplified extension of the group, turning the staging into something closer to a sci-fi narrative than a standard performance.

As the song builds, so does the production. The lighting escalates into a full laser display, flooding the stage with movement and energy. It’s loud, it’s dramatic, and it fully commits to the concept without holding back.

Who are Bzikebi

Bzikebi is a three-piece musical group made up of Giorgi Shiolashvili, Mariam Tatulashvili and Mariam Kikuashvili. The band formed in 2008 to represent Georgia at Junior Eurovision in Limassol, Cyprus. The group won, giving Georgia its first of four Junior Eurovision wins. The band have sporadically released music together, but have since carried on with their own solo projects, before reuniting for Eurovision 2026.

Georgia’s Eurovision Journey

Georgia’s history in Eurovision has been mixed since they began competing in 2007, represented by Sopho Khalvashi with “Visionary Dream”. Their highest placements – both coming in 9th – were achieved in 2010 and 2011, with Sopho Niharadze performing Shine and Eldrine with One More Day. They have not qualified for the final since 2016, where they were represented by Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz with Midnight Gold.

For 2025, GPB selected Mariam Shengelia to represent Georgia with her song “Freedom”. In Basel, Georgia failed to qualify for the final, earning 28 points in the semi-final, ultimate placing fifteenth.
