🇬🇷 Greece confirms Eurovision 2027 participation

Greece’s national broadcaster ERT has confirmed that it will be competing in the 71st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest next year in Bulgaria.

A return for Sing for Greece

Following Akylas’ success for Greece in Vienna, Greek broadcaster ERT has confirmed their intention to participate in the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, due to be held in Bulgaria next May. ERT have also confirmed the return of their national selection show Sing For Greece. This would be the third edition of the National Final since its regeneration in 2025, seeing Klavdia and Akylas win in 2025 and 2026.

Speaking to website escspot.pl, Konstantinos Tsolakis, acting director of corporate communications for ERT, said:

Of course, we will participate and our representative will be selected through the extremely successful Sing for Greece selection process, which we have been pursuing for two years.

Further details of the selection process are to be announced by ERT in the coming months.

Greece’s Eurovision history

In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.

Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Akylas with the song “Ferto”. Following his performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 10th place. He earned a total of 220 points, of which 53 were from the national juries and 147 were from the televoters.
