Poland have confirmed their intention to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, due to be held in Bulgaria. Polish broadcaster TVP announced they will compete in the contest in May.
TVP confirms 2027 participation
Polish national broadcaster TVP have confirmed their intention to take part in the 71st Eurovision Song Contest, due to be held in Burgas next year. The broadcaster has also announced that they will once again use a national selection to pick their entrant for the 2027 Contest. The Polish national broadcaster revealed the news to the Eska radio station in the country earlier today.
TVP also announced that Jacek Dybowski will once again be responsible for the national selection. Dybowski has been the television producer responsible for Eurovision and Junior Eurovision productions in Poland in recent years. Speaking about the selection of the polish participation, the statement issued by TVP says:
Jacek Dybowski received an order from Polish Television to prepare and implement national preselections for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Bulgaria and accepted it.
Further news about the Polish selection show for Eurovision 2027 is yet to be announced.
Poland’s Eurovision journey
In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Edyta Górniak with the song “To nie ja!” and placed 2nd, Poland’s best result at the contest to date. Since then, Poland has participated 26 times, qualifying for the Grand Final 16 times.
Poland selected 2020 representative Alicja, who was due to compete with the song “Empires” before the contest was cancelled due to covid, to represent the nation at Eurovision 2026. She won their national final Wielki finał polskich kwalifikacji with the song “Pray”. She qualified for the Grand Final, ultimately finishing in 12th place with 150 points. Of these, 133 came from the jury, while the remaining 17 came from the televote.
