Still fresh from his performance on the Vienna stage, Norway’s JONAS LOVV has released a new single. “Make a boy cry” is the second release from the “YA YA YA” singer since his appearance on the Eurovision 2026 stage.
About “Make a boy cry”
JONAS LOVV has released his latest single “Make a boy cry”. The new track from JONAS sees him deliver his trademark rock vocal, over an instantly catchy drum beat. The song is similar to his Eurovision entry, in that it is in a classic rock’n’roll style, with modern flair. It’s an incredibly infectious record, with a chorus that will instantly get stuck in your head.
The track is the latest release to come from LOVV’s upcoming debut full length album. Posting on his instagram, JONAS said the song is “without a doubt one of [his] favourite songs on the upcoming album”. The accompanying music video sees JONAS, and his famous moustache, performing the track as a one man band in his 70’s inspired lounge set up.
The track was written by JONAS himself, with backing vocals and instrumentals from long time collaborator Sondre Skaftun. The new song is released on the Warner Music Norway label.

Who is JONAS LOVV?
Jonas Lovv Hellesøy is a 31-year-old singer-songwriter born in the Norwegian city of Bergen. He first shot to fame when he appeared on the Norwegian version of Idol, but was eliminated at the audition stage. After that, he developed his voice, fronting several bands before going solo and releasing his own music in 2020. In 2025, he gained recognition in his home country after starring in Norway’s The Voice – Norges beste stemme. Here, he reached the semi-final stage, and narrowly missed out on a spot in the final.
JONAS LOVV’ Eurovision history
The Norwegian musician entered the country’s Eurovision national final Melodi Grand Prix at the start of 2026 with his song “YA YA YA”. The 2026 edition of the national selection show featured Norway’s last Eurovision winner, Alexander Rybak, with his third attempt at representing the country. In spite of tough competition from a Eurovision legend, JONAS took the win in MGP with 265 points, 73 more than second place Rybak, earning the right to represent Norway in Vienna.
JONAS was drawn in the second Semi-Final at the Contest in Vienna. The “YA YA YA” singer was selected in 15th slot in the running order of the Semi-Final, closing the performances. Norway would qualify for the Grand Final with “YA YA YA”, and placed 14th at the close of voting. LOVV recieved 134 points in total, 115 of which were from the jury and 19 from televoters.
