The official Junior Eurovision Song Contest website announced earlier this week that Violamarie will represent San Marino at this year’s contest in Ta’ Qali.
Violamarie to Junior Eurovision 2026
Real name Viola Marie Ledda, the eleven-year-old from Milan, Italy, has a strong social media presence, with 350,000 followers and over a billion views. Her repertoire stands out for its variety, ranging from Disney songs to pop music from the 1990s and 2000s. Violamarie has previously lived in Liguria, Lombardy and the Rimini area, where she has studied singing, music, acting and dance.
At the moment, there is no information about the song that Violamarie will sing in Malta, which will likely be revealed by San Marinese brodcaster SMRTV in the coming weeks.
Junior Eurovision 2026 begins to take shape
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is due to take place at 21.00 CEST, on Saturday 24 October, live from the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali, Malta. Last year’s Contest was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, where France’s Lou Deleuze won with the song “Ce Monde”. Malta’s broadcaster PBS are hosting the Contest for the third time, having hosted the event previously in 2014 and 2016.

San Marino’s Junior Eurovision journey
San Marino made its debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with Michele Perniola and his entry “O-o-O Sole intorno a me” which placed 10th. San Marino participated two more times, with their recent attempt in 2015 with Kamilla Ismailova and her song “Mirror” which placed 14th. The country then took a nine-year hiatus before returning in 2024 with Idols SM and their song “Come Noi,” which came last with 47 points.
Last year, Martina CRV represented San Marino in Tbilisi. Her song “Beyond the Stars” finished in 9th place with a total of 125 points. 87 of them came from the public vote, while the jury only awarded San Marino 38 points.
