11-year-old singer Beppe Caruana has been selected to represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Ta’ Qali. He has won the national final via the talent show The Voice Kids Malta, whose final was held on September 19th.
The national final selection process
Six finalists competed in the final of The Voice Kids Malta 2026:
- Beppe Caruana
- Zeah Aquilina
- Alaiya Cini
- Annis Joy Buttigieg
- Maya Galea
- Nina Groma Wood
The final was divided into two rounds:
Round 1: All six finalists performed individual audition songs, each coach (Aleandro, Destony and Gaia) selected one artist from their team to move forward.
Round 2 (Superfinal): The top three performed a duet with their coach. The winner was decided by a jury vote, which Beppe won.
Details of Beppe’s song for Junior Eurovision 2026 will be announced at a later date.
Junior Eurovision 2026 begins to take shape
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is due to take place at 21:00 CEST, on Saturday 24 October, live from the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. Malta’s broadcaster PBS are hosting the contest for the third time, having done so previously in 2014 and 2016.

Malta’s Junior Eurovision journey
Malta participated in the inaugural edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with Sarah Harrison and the song “Like A Star”, which placed 7th. The country participated until 2010, when it took a break and returned in 2013 with Gaia Cauchi and “The Start”, which was their first win in the competition. It wasn’t long until they achieved their second win in 2015, where Destiny Chukunyere won with her song “Not My Soul”. Destiny went on to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with “Je Me Casse”, where she placed seventh.
Eliza Borg represented Malta in 2025 with the song “I Believe”, placing 11th and receiving 153 points, 54 of which from the jury and 38 from the online vote.
