Georgian broadcaster GPB has officially revealed the song “Sun on the Rooftops” to be performed by 10-year-old Davit Lomidze at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Ta’ Qali.
About “Sun on the Rooftops”
The song is an upbeat disco and pop track that allows Davit to showcase his powerful voice. It also has a very catchy danceable rhythm that will get stuck in the heads of many fans. Combining Georgian and Italian, “Sun on the Rooftops” carries a universal message of the importance of self-growth and looking for small moments of joy that unite us all, fitting perffectly with the spirit of Junior Eurovision.
Davit Lomidze had been crowned the winner of the ninth season of Ranina, earning the honour of representing Georgia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
Georgia’s Junior Eurovision journey
Georgia is the most successful country to take part in Junior Eurovision, currently with four wins under their belt. The country joined the Junior Eurovision family in 2007 with Mariam Romelashvili singing “Odelia Ranuni”, finishing in 4th place. Georgia then won the competition the following year, with Bzikebi’s “Bzz⦔ and in 2011 and 2016 respectively. The country’s latest victory came in 2024, when Andria Putkaradze won with “To My Mom”.
In 2025, Georgia was represented by Anita Abgariani on home soil in Tbilisi with her song “Shine Like a Star”. At the close of voting, Georgia would finish in third place with a total of 176 points. From these, a total of 121 points came from the jury, while the remaining 55 points came from the online vote.
