After last year’s success, Greece’s national broadcaster ERT has confirmed that ‘Sing for Greece’ will return to select Greece’s entry for Eurovision 2027, with applications opening on Tuesday 22nd September.

After its introduction last year, ERT have confirmed that ‘Sing for Greece’ will return for the Eurovision 2027 season. This will mark the second year of this national selection, with its continuation due to the ‘high ratings and interest in both artists and viewers‘ seen in 2026. Interested participants can submit their proposal in an online form before the deadline of Sunday, November 1st at 23:59 (EEST), with detailed terms and conditions governing the process provided.
Sing for Greece Format
The selection will be divided into two Semi-Finals. Twenty songs will compete, with twelve songs qualifying for the final. The twelve qualifiers will be decided solely by a public vote. The final will consist of a combination of public and jury votes, with the winner receiving the chance to represent Greece in Burgas. As of writing, no dates have been confirmed for the selection process.
Greece’s Eurovision Journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Akylas with the song “Ferto”. Following his performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 10th place. He earned a total of 220 points, of which 53 were from the national juries and 147 were from the televoters.
