As we enter a new month, the rumour mill continues to shape what could be the line-up for Melodifestivalen 2027, Sweden’s Eurovision 2027 selection. Over the past few days, Aftonbladet has reported numerous names, including familiar faces, in the latest rumours.
Is it selfish to participate for a second time in a row? – Hopefully not!
Our first artist in this round-up is a familiar face from 2026, and that is Eva Jumatate, who debuted in Melodifestivalen with her entry “Selfish”. In her debut, Eva made it through to the Final Qualification round of the competition, where unfortunately she was pipped to the final by Robin Bengtsson. Since then, Eva has toured Sweden, when she was part of the line-up for Digiloo.
A comedian in the mix for 2027
The next artist in this round-up is Per Andersson, who was one of the hosts of Melodifestivalen in 2021. According to Aftonbladet’s reporting, Per’s potential Melodifestivalen entry was written by Edward af Sillén, who also made his debut as a songwriter in the 2026 edition of Melodifestivalen, as one of the songwriters for Lilla Al Fadji’s entry “Delulu” which made the final.
Returning after appearing as an interval act in Mello 2026
After appearing as an interval act in this year’s contest, E-Type, who has previously participated in Mello in 2004 and 2008, is also being reported as one of the artists who could be in the line-up, with E-Type’s team apparently scouting songs over the summer. If confirmed, it would be the first time since 2019 that E-Type has released new music.
A Mello legend in the mix
At the midway point of this round-up, we have a Mello veteran potentially in the mix for next year’s line-up, and that is Nanne Grönvall, who has competed 14 times, six as an artist, and eight as a songwrtier. Aftonbladet reports that Nanne’s potential entry is a pop song.
A returnee with a new artist name
Up next in this round-up is Theo Haraldsson, formerly known as THEOZ, who participated twice in 2022 and 2023. Aftonbladet reports that Theo submitted an entry to participate in 2026, but was rejected. Should Theo’s participation be confirmed, it would be the first time he will be participating under his new stage name.
Is fifth time a charm?
Another name in Aftonbladet’s round-up is Dotter, who has participated in Mello for four times as an artist, with three more as part of the songwriting team. The news of her potential participation comes after the release of her single “Mr Radiobeat” a reimagining of Mr Saxobeat, which signalled her collaboration with Universal Music Group.
A Ukrainian element in her Mello entry?
Rounding off this round-up is a returnee who also last competed in 2024, and that is Maria Sur, who has already competed in Melodifestivalen twice. According to Aftonbladet’s source, Maria is “in it to win it”, and that her potential Melodifestivalen entry has a Ukrainian element to it.

The line-up for Melodifestivalen 2027 is currently being finalised, with the line-up set to be revealed later in the year, usually in late November, early December.
Sweden’s Eurovision journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2026, Melodifestivalen was won by FELICIA, singing “My System”. FELICIA qualified for the Grand Final of Eurovision in Vienna, maintaining Sweden’s near perfect track record from the semi-finals. The country has only narrowly lost out on a place in the Grand Final once, in 2010. At the close of voting in the grand final, FELICIA received 51 points, finishing in 20th place. 35 points were given by the juries, while she received 16 points by televoters.
