๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฑ TVP sets out roadmap for Polish 2027 national selection

Alicja, who won the Polish selection in 2026 and represented the nation in Vienna

Polish broadcaster TVP has outlined the roadmap for its national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. Poland will choose its act for Eurovision 2027 in either January or February.

Submissions window for selection now open

On October 1st, TVP officially opened the submissions window for its national selection process, currently named Krajowe Preselekcje do Eurowizji. The selection will be held in three phases, that will culminate with a national final taking place at some point in the first two months of the year.

The first stage takes place from October 1st and November 15th, where any interested acts that hold Polish citizenship can submit a song to TVP’s dedicated portal. After this, a selection committee will listen to all submitted songs, with a maximum of twenty acts being chosen to advance to the second stage of the selection process. This stage should be concluded by November 30th.

For the second stage, the twenty acts will be invited to take part in live auditions at TVP’s studios in Warsaw on December 17th. From here, the committee will select between seven and ten acts to compete in the televised national final. However, another three acts will be held in reserve in case of a potential withdrawal. The winning act will be chosen solely by televoting, but TVP reserves the right to add an extra method of voting. Should there be any inconsistencies that render the televote unreliable, the winner will be chosen by a reserve jury.

Poland’s Eurovision journey

In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Edyta Gรณrniak with the song โ€œTo nie ja!โ€ and placed 2nd, Polandโ€™s best result at the contest to date. Since then, Poland has participated 26 times, qualifying for the Grand Final 16 times.

Poland selected 2020 representative Alicja to represent the nation at Eurovision 2026 with “Party”, six years after her failed participation. She qualified for the final, ultimately finishing in 12th place with 150 points. Of these, 133 came from the jury, while the remaining 17 came from the televote.
