Another day, another name, the rumour mill continues to shape what could be the line-up for Melodifestivalen 2027, Sweden’s Eurovision 2027 selection. Aftonbladet has reported two more names in that could potentially be in the mix to participate in next year’s selection.
Another returnee in the mix
We start this round-up with another returnee, and it is in the shape of singer-songwriter Cazzi Opeia, who last competed as an artist in 2024. In her Melodifestivalen journey, Cazzi has competed twice as an artist, but has co-written numerous entries, including the Eurovision 2023 winning entry “Tattoo” by Loreen.
Finally – a newcomer in the mix
Several sources have mentioned to Aftonbladet that dansband Royz Rollerz, is set to participate in next year’s competition. The four-piece group met whilst studying music and was created when they were assigned to write music for dansbands.

As reported by Swedish media, the artists that could potentially be competing at next year’s competition are as follows:

- E-Type
- Nanne Grönvall
- Dotter
- Eva Jumatate
- Theo Haraldsson
- Maria Sur
- Cazzi Opeia
- Royz Rollerz
The line-up for Melodifestivalen 2027 is currently being finalised, with the line-up set to be revealed later in the year, usually in late November, early December.
Sweden’s Eurovision journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2026, Melodifestivalen was won by FELICIA, singing “My System”. FELICIA qualified for the Grand Final of Eurovision in Vienna, maintaining Sweden’s near perfect track record from the semi-finals. The country has only narrowly lost out on a place in the Grand Final once, in 2010. At the close of voting in the grand final, FELICIA received 51 points, finishing in 20th place. 35 points were given by the juries, while she received 16 points by televoters.
