Czechia’s Eurovision 2023 representatives Vesna, who placed 10th at the Contest in Liverpool, are back with a surprise new album. The “My Sister’s Crown” singers have dropped new album “Lidová”. About “Lidová”
Vesna, who placed 10th at the Song Contest in Liverpool with “My Sister’s Crown” back in 2023, have released a surprise new album in the form of “Lidová”. The new album features the previously released single “Vínečko“. Also found on the record is the band’s recent collaboration with Czech Eurovision 2020 and 2021 representative Ben Cristovao (Benny Cristo).
The record blends modern styles of music with traditional Vesna folk, seeing rap, trap, pop and reggaeton all taken on by the girls. Personal highlights of the record include “Moravo”, “Pápá a šáteček” and “Divoká”, as well as their most recent single “Vínečko“.
The band took to instagram to say:
“Lidová” is out on all platforms! A record that nobody knew about until yesterday’s Fora Karlín 🤫. “Lidová” is our unbridled manifesto and sensual breakthrough into the new era of Vesna. We mixed folklore with rap, opera with pop and cymbal with reggaeton. Yes, we know that we don’t fit into the boxes – just like we don’t wear the outfit as others expect. Doing it our way and loving it!
Much of the new record was written by lead vocalist Patricie Kaňok, with composition from other members of the group. Tracks on the album also see production and composition from Michal Jiráň, Adam Vopička and Bjarke Sørensen, among others. The group are playing a number of shows across Czechia in early 2027.
