๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Voyager release new single “Secret”

Australian progressive metal band Voyager, who represented their country in the 2023 Song Contest in Liverpool, are back with new music. The Perth-based band have this week released new single, “Secret”.

About “Secret”

Voyager are back with a new single. The Perth-based progressive metal group, and Eurovision 2023 representatives for Australia, have released new track “Secret”. The song is a big, synth-metal track, reminiscent of prog-rock and hair metal from the 80s and 90s, with a classic Voyager vibe. The chorus teases a secret that listeners will “never find the answers” of.

Danny from the brand had the following to say on the new single:

Secret is a return to classic Voyager 80s melodies, big grooves and big solos; we are so excited to unleash this banger of a track onto the world. What’s the secret? Only Voyager knows and we’re not telling you…

The new single was written and composed by the group themselves. Voyager are due to be touring Australia throughout November 2026, with dates in Syndey, Melbourne and Perth currently scheduled. For more information on tour dates and tickets, visit their website.

Who are Voyager?

Voyager are a Perth-based, Australian progressive metal band, who formed in 1999 at the University of Western Australia. The group is currently made up of 5 members, Daniel “Danny” Estrin, Simone Dow, Alex Canion, Scott Kay and Ashley Doodkorte. So far in their career, they have released 8 studio albums.

Voyagers’s Eurovision journey

Voyager’s first taste of the Eurovision universe came in 2022, when the band were selected to take part in the Australian national selection Eurovision – Australia Decides. The group entered the selection with their song, “Dreamer”, and performed in 10th place in the running order. At the close of voting, Voyager placed second in the national final with “Dreamer”. After the selection show, “Dreamer” debuted at number 6 on the Australian Independent Label Singles chart. The group have, in recent years, taken a hiatus from music and live touring due to lead singer Daniel Estrin having been diagnosed with cancer in 2023. The band returned to music in 2025, and performed live again in Autumn of that year.

Ahead of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, Voyager were internally selected by Australian broadcaster SBS to represent the county at the 2023 Contest. They became the first ever band to represent the nation in the Song Contest, and the first act from Western Australia. Voyager performed the song “Promise” in the second of the Semi-Finals in Liverpool, and progressed to the Grand Final, winning their Semi in the process.

At the Grand Final in Liverpool, Voyager performed “Promise” in the 15th slot in the running order. The Group were awarded 151 points at the close of voting, landed them in 9th place. They scored 130 points from the international juries, coming in 6th place. The group were, however, awarded just 21 points from the public televote, despite winning their televote only Semi just a few days before.
