The final act rehearsing today is Malta, who will be represented by Destiny in this year’s competition with her entry ‘Je Me Casse’
What did we think of the rehearsal?
It starts off Pink and Black, with Destiny coming out of the shadows in the first verse, the first verse is completely pink in the backdrop, Destiny and her dancers are in all pink, Destiny’s outfit does have 20’s representation in it. In the chorus it moves to a yellow backdrop her and the dancers do a dance with their hand in the choruses which is memorable, the backdrop changes to red in the second verse before switching back to yellow for the second chorus. The backdrop disappears for the refrain and the focus is all on Destiny’s vocals which are stellar throughout.
There was pyro in the final chorus in the final runthrough! before switching to Yellow before the end. This is classy and something 20’s inspired but remaining extremely modern as well. This has a strong female empowerment message and it something juries and fans at home should love.
Now what did our team think of Malta’s rehearsal?
Jazzi: This is absolutely amazing this is by far my favourite rehearsal so far, it’s fun it’s sassy and Destiny’s vocals and stage presence are amazing. I love the use of neon to bring the fun to this performance. The little hand dance is so engaging and by the end I can see people doing it along with the performance! This will be loved by juries and televoters and I do believe it is a potential winner still. I really hope this does well for Malta as it deserves to.
