The ninth and final act rehearsing today is Serbia, who will be represented by Hurricane in this yearโs competition with their entry ‘Loco Loco’.
What did we think of the rehearsal?
It’s a striking staging from Serbia, who are definitely bringing sex appeal with their performance. Their dance moves are fluid, their outfits are black and skintight and there’s thigh-high boots for days. The performance is fairly simple, with striking black and white graphics for the most part throughout – we get a little touch of red and a some brighter, more colourful lights in the second chorus. They use both the main stage and the satellite stage. There’s some smoke from the floor in the chorus. The focus of the whole staging is on Sanja, Ksenja and Ivana, who carry the whole song.
Now what did our team think of Serbia’s rehearsal?
Rosie: As a person who really wasn’t convinced on Loco Loco, I now feel slightly more convinced on it. Hurricane really bring the song to life on stage, and Ivana, Ksenja and Sanja all have their moments to shine. Their harmonies are fantastic, and they make dancing while singing look completely effortless. I can certainly see this making the final – it’s so energetic and will really stand out on the night.
Rory: There was no denying that the girls from Serbia were going to kill the performance vocally, and having the chance to let loose with some adlibs really adds to that! I liked the overall vibe they were giving, although the monochrome backdrop was a little confusing. They all look stunning regardless, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do to refine it further in the second rehearsal – without Ivana tripping over.
