🇮🇹 Grand Final and Semi-Final 2 interval acts revealed

The EBU has confirmed the interval acts that will be appearing during Semi-Final 2 and the Final of Eurovision 2022. The interval acts for Semi-Final 1 on Tuesday 10th May include 2020 Italian Eurovision representative Diodato and the Dance Of Beauty.

Semi Final Two

The acts that will perform in Semi-final two include II Volo, who will perform their 2015 song “Grande Amore”. Hosts Laura Pulsini and Mika will also perform a duet in Semi-Final 2. The second Semi-Final will be opened by host Alessandro Cattelan. Alessandro will teach us the “Italian art of getting by“.

II Volo represented Italy at Eurovision 2015 with their song “Grande Amore”. The group consists of Gianluca Ginoble, Ignazio Boschetto and Piero Barone. They placed third in the 2015 contest, however they did win the televote that year.

Grand Final

The acts performing in the Grand Final include current Eurovision winners Måneskin, who will sing “Zitti e buoni” alongside a medley of their other hits. Rai will also be giving us a real throwback as they have invited their 1964 winner Gigliola Cinquetti to perform her winner’s song “Non ho l’età” in what is sure to be a beautiful moment.

The hosts will be getting involved as well: during the opening Laura Pulsini will be performing a medley of her greatest hits. Laura will be performing alongside Rockin’ 1000, who were announced at an earlier date. Mika will also be giving a special performance focussing on love and peace.

Eurovision Song Contest 2022

Italy won the right to host the 2022 Eurovision Contest after Måneskin won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Since then, Turin was selected to host the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which is due to take place on the 10th, 12th, and 14th of May. 41 countries were set to be competing in the 66th edition of the competition with Armenia and Montenegro returning to the competition. However, Russia will not be participating in this year’s competition.

Ahead of the competition, it was revealed that Rockin 1,000 will be part of the show and that Eurovillage will be returning in 2022, and will be located in Parco del Valentino. Find out more about the EuroClub and Eurovision Village venues!

Italy’s 2020 representative, Diodato, will perform as an interval act in the first semi-final, alongside a tribute to Italian dance music called The Dance of Beauty.

The slogan for this year’s Eurovision is “The Sound of Beauty” and you can see more about how the stage fits in with the concept here!
