Today second rehearsals for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 continued. Countries rehearsing on Day 7 include Australia, Cyprus, Ireland, North Macedonia, Estonia, Romania, Poland, Montenegro, Belgium, Sweden and the Czech Republic. Next to rehearse today was Ireland’s Brooke.

Brooke’s second rehearsal

Today we got to watch Brooke’s second rehearsal from the online Press Centre. We got an in-depth preview of how her performance will look on TV on Thursday 12th May, when she performs in the second Eurovision semi-final. You can watch a small clip of her second rehearsal here!

What did we see in Ireland’s second rehearsal?

The performance opens with shots of pink lights shooting from the stage, whilst Brooke and her dancers lie on the floor with a heart on the LED floor. Brooke then makes her way to her feet in time for the first chorus. Going on from the first verse, Brooke performs a bit of high-intense choreography with her dancers in the first chorus before facing away from the crowd at the instrumental break.

The second verse sees the dancers and Brooke lay on one another in a very Dua Lipa “New Rules”-esque style. The lights remain pink with strong white beams coming through, as well as accents of blue similar to the shade of Brooke’s outfit. There are some slicker camera angles, as Brooke makes her way to the front of the stage and her dancers form a line behind her going into the second chorus. The breakdown sees Brooke close-up and giving attitude to the chorus as her dances run around her. The final chorus sees some more intensive choreographies to go with her high-impact light shows and pyros galore as the final shot sees Brooke waving at the camera and smiling.

She was mentored by Meghan Trainor, and placed third in the competition. Since then, she released her first single, “Attention”, before her participation in The Late Late Show selection.

She will perform her Eurovision 2022 entry, “That’s Rich”, in the second half of the second semi-final on 12th May 2022.

Ireland‘s Eurovision Journey

In 1965, Ireland made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with Butch Moore and the song “Walking the Streets in the Rain”, which managed to place 6th. Since their debut, Ireland has participated 54 times (making the Grand Final 45 times), and has won the competition seven times, which is currently the record for most wins.

Ireland’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Lesley Roy, with the song “MAPS”. She placed 16th in the semi-final, receiving 20 points from the jury and televote.
